More then ever school age children are given stimulant drugs like Ritalin and Dexedrine in order to make them 'more manageable' and less irritating. Breggin writes;
"Every time we drug a child, we are choosing our convenience...over the child's real needs. This is another reason never to use drugs. It is unethical and more importantly unlawful to drug a child for our own convenience. It is wrong to distort the function of a child's brain with drugs in order to 'improve' the child's behavior."
I totally agree drugging a child is wrong, just to make our lives more convenient. All children learn by example, having a Child with ADHD meanings that the parent or guardian has to be extremely careful in the example they are setting for the child; the parents doing their best to show the appropriate behavior, making every day life as stress less as possible.
