Listen
"There is no teacher, no student. At times teaching arises when the right conditions exist."
Duran
I teach people how to become effective counselors. Perhaps the biggest challenge is to show those training to be psychologists, social workers or addictions workers to become vulnerable. Risking relationship. To understand that there is not a teacher and student rather an exchange of experience, words and energy. If we as counselors can learn to listen with our hearts, eyes and souls then we discover the times when teaching arises from being vulnerable. When teaching is rooted in a shared experience between equals; no matter our education, race or wealth. TJS.
