Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, an obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board. The hospitality was as cold as the ices.
-Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Are we always strong enough to handle the truth?..
ReplyDeleteWe are, if we listen from our inner self. I we focus on being a human being versus a human doing then the truth is mearly a reflection of the world. Truth itself is a state of mind. Mind at peace. At peace with self. So enough of the babble. The reality is that if I am comfortable with myself and aware of who I am than no truth is to difficult to bear.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with this desire to be comfortable and keep mind at peace all the time?! Anger and negativity are normal parts of life!
ReplyDeleteTruth is sometimes peaceful, but more often it's very bitter and hard to digest, difficult to bear. But that's good! Feeling uncomfortable is beginning of a conflict, and conflict is beginning of a change. To the best, hopefully!
