What are you looking for?
Time and time again I meet people who are looking for more of something! Our lives seem to be that way. We become human doings who fill time with events and schedules. And when those events or experiences come and go we are left ultimately alone. They did not fill our voids. More than anything else we need to listen to our lives. To sit alone and examine who we have become and how we have gotten there. It is in moments like this when we listen carefully that we can move from human doings to human beings. To sit and listen to the birds as they chatter in the wind. TJS

Does sitting and listening to the birds chatting work for everybody?
ReplyDeleteSome people respond so much better to being "hit on the head" with something hard and heavy (figuratively speaking). That's when they begin to understand the nature of things.
Birds chattering is a metaphor. It applies to listening intently to self. The birds are of our own making. If one needs to be 'hit on the head' then they have missed the point. It is all about willingness.
ReplyDeleteWillingness... So many times good learning experience comes to us against our will. Sometimes in despair, sometimes in our sleep. I just wanted to make sure you are not one of those shrinks who believes that same rules apply to all.
ReplyDeleteBesides, what if a person is simply empty inside? They have nothing to listen to- they are empty shells... Wasted materials. Damaged goods. Burned to the core. No conciousness left.
Do you think this is the case to look for answers and inspirations OUTSIDE and from other people, people who have light, kindness and wisdom in them?
Rather than search dead waters of one's own uncapable soul...
There are no wasted materials, no empty shells only growth waiting to happen.
